Det er alltid et godt valg å lese en bok av Cormac McCarthy. Mye av dialogen er på spansk når handlingen krysser grensa til Mexico. Greit å ha litt grunnleggende språkkunnskap i spansk slik at dette ikke forstyrrer for mye av leseropplevelsen. Ellers er naturskildringen i boka nydelig. Lyset om kvelden i ørkenen, blomsterengene i Mexico, storviltjakt i fjella.
